PU administration takes action against 8 more students for violating discipline


LAHORE: (Friday, January 31, 2025): The Punjab University administration has taken action against 8 more students for violating discipline. According to Punjab University spokesperson, Abdullah Azam of the Institute of Electrical, Electronics & Computer Engineering and Ghulam Murtaza of the Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education were expelled on charges of violence related activities. Adil Shahzad of the Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education was fined Rs 10,000 and rusticated for one year for rioting. He said that the admission of Zubair Ali of the Institute of Islamic Studies was cancelled for using inappropriate language against the syllabus and teachers. Similarly, the admission of Nabila Ashiq, a student of the Institute of Islamic Studies, was also cancelled on charges of stealing a classmate’s mobile phone and other items. While the disciplinary committee imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 and a warning on Muhammad Adeel, Muhammad Ahmar Umer Akram and Farhan Adeel of the Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education for various violations. The spokesperson said that on the instructions of Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali, indiscriminate action will continue against students who commit disciplinary violations.
